Welcome to the British Hawking Association

When the BHA was first formed it had two main objectives; firstly to create an environment where anyone wishing to become involved in falconry could learn from experienced falconers, and secondly, to bring together falconers from all walks of life to stand fast in the fight to keep falconry a legal and recognised sport.

These objectives still stand true and we now have Regional Officers or Club Representatives in most Counties, apprenticeship schemes are up and running and we have proved falconers to be responsible caretakers of their sport.

The BHA holds regular field meetings through out the Winter, social meetings are held monthly within different regions, regular newsletters and our yearly journal..... the Yarak, are designed to keep members informed about a variety of issues, regional activities and club news.

To keep a Bird of Prey is a big responsibility. It takes time, knowledge, money, dedication, and more time still!

It is for this very reason that we are happy to accept members from experienced falconers to those who have not yet got a bird of their own, and wish to find out just what is involved in the up keep and training of a Bird Of Prey before they acquire one.
